The symbolic digital library of Giordano Bruno

The work and the sources

The site is organised in four main sections. The first presents the works organised in line with a macro-division between Latin and vernacular.  The texts have been acquired in line with a rigorous criterion of adherence to the printed page, which makes it possible in the course of navigation to highlight - by selecting - the phenomena that came to light in the course of the codification, from proper names (of people and places) to sources. Some of the works, which are always introduced by a specific index that facilitates consultation, are offered in more than one edition when the alternatives are of particular philological or critical significance. There is a second section with indexes of the names mentioned. The third section offers an articulated organisation of the sources, while the fourth envisages an approach more specific to research, which can be carried out using strings of text. Other features include two additional sections offering aids and hints for navigation.
